Der Auftrag

What Francesco Micieli experiences daily in the world, he records in the form of poems. The lyrical voice of these "notes" is a person named Helena. She believes she has a mission, the details of which we do not know, including the identity of the client. The external environment and inner world merge into a lyrical inventory. The texts explore the fine cracks in the images of everyday life and the account of the quiet destruction of existence.

The poems in this collection are confidential communications to the reader. The lyrical self writes a poetic diary about a mission, and we are allowed, indeed must, look over its shoulder. The fact that we learn nothing specific about the mission from the notes is a trick to draw us into the unfolding events. We, the readers, are thus compelled to speculate about the mission and become accomplices of the lyrical self.
