Product details
The new edition of Thinking and Arithmetic is designed to promote process and content-related mathematical skills in equal measure. To ensure that children learn as independently as possible and are successful, Denken und Rechnen contains recurring task formats. In this way, children can use familiar formats to work on new, challenging and problem-orientated questions or find them themselves.
Planning, testing, evaluating and discarding calculation and solution methods are all part of children's mathematical learning process. For this reason, Thinking and Arithmetic promotes and encourages more self-directed approaches to solving maths problems (e.g. in the numeracy conference).
Many tasks are designed to enable partner or group work. This creates additional opportunities for communication and encourages and promotes independence, self-organisation and personal responsibility. To promote language development in maths lessons, new terms or formulation aids are introduced in the textbook right from the start in the form of a word memory. A collection of all word memory entries for reference can be found on the last pages of the textbook. The word memory is particularly useful for children learning a second language.
In addition to the familiar self-assessments in the textbook at the end of each content unit, the new edition of Thinking and Arithmetic offers the so-called 'I can already do that' pages in the workbook, where children have the opportunity to reflect on their own skills by completing sample tasks and visualising them on a four-point scale.
The challenge books, which are optimally coordinated with the exercise books and workbooks, provide optimum support for differentiation in heterogeneous classes.
In addition, the performance reviews offered, together with the additional tasks offered in the new edition, enable a good and individual performance assessment. Evaluation sheets for the whole class support the recording of individual learning processes, the differentiated planning of lessons and the writing of learning development reports.
The BiBoxes and interactive training booklets make digital learning and teaching easier.
