Product details
In a dreamy landscape in the midst of the Moroccan desert, Richard and Dally throw a three-day extravagant Gatsby-style party for their friends, complete with cocaine, champagne, a pool, and fireworks. On their way there, the British couple David and Jo, drunk and hopelessly at odds, run over a fossil seller by the roadside and would prefer to make the body disappear. But then the victim's family shows up and demands David's presence at the funeral in a remote village, while Jo continues to enjoy herself at the party. The party relentlessly approaches its climax - under the watchful eyes of the house servant Hamid. Lawrence Osborne ruthlessly dissects his characters, their personalities and relationships, creating striking, cinematic scenes that oscillate between tenderness and cynicism.
