The textile industry is growing at an enormous pace due to the high demand for cotton, wool, and synthetic fabrics. The wastewater generated during various manufacturing processes is difficult to treat due to its toxicity. This book focuses on the study of textile sludge management to improve sustainability. It also includes a cost-effective treatment of textile sludge through the use of hyacinths, which partially absorb heavy metals from the sludge. The extracted sludge can be used along with cow dung for biogas production. The byproduct of the biogas treatment is further utilized as organic fertilizer.
