Product details
This illustrated book presents views of Delitzsch by the PhD historian and museum director Manfred Wilde, which will surprise even those familiar with the city. The period from the beginnings of photography until around 1960 is documented through mostly unpublished and unique images of the city. Much of what is depicted no longer exists today, having fallen victim to demolition or been erased by the effects of both World Wars. Historical images of streets, squares, houses, parks, and gardens, numerous depictions of residents engaged in their professions, children at play, and personalities from public life illustrate the passage of time in Delitzsch. This book provides a vivid impression of a time that many have forgotten or never experienced. You are invited to take a stroll through nearly.
