The upstanding tourist René Dourreau meets a spectacular end - in broad daylight and right in the middle of the beachfront promenade of the picturesque resort town of Tréville-Plage. However, even the eagerly summoned criminal police cannot solve his brutal murder and must leave empty-handed. Six weeks later, the holiday guests have long returned home, and Dédé, also known as Detective Deschamps, is tasked with unraveling the mystery. Because now, Dourreau's murderer has set his sights on the immensely wealthy industrialist Caius Morel. Dédé has little time for his investigations, even less luck, and a client who does not tolerate mistakes.
