Product details
This collection of over 500 tasks is the perfect complement to the textbook classic "Decker Machine Elements" and is comprehensively aligned with it. It familiarizes users with the solution processes involved in the calculation of machine elements and provides a quick onboarding opportunity for those who only occasionally deal with technical calculations. Thus, the exercise book is equally suitable for engineering students at master and technician schools, vocational academies, colleges, and universities. Additionally, it is aimed at engineers and technicians in training and in the profession.
Following the structure of the textbook, the organization is as follows:
- Non-solvable connections
- Solvable connections
- Rotational motion elements
- Gears
- Enveloping drives
- Guide elements for liquids and gases
In addition to the task statements, the book includes numerous illustrations in the form of calculation sketches or schematic representations to aid understanding, as well as the results of the calculations and, where it seemed appropriate for achieving clear values, the intermediate results and the table values used. Explanations and notes on the solution process for each task are also provided. Each solution can be clearly traced according to the given instructions.
The 17th edition takes into account the current state of technology and features a new layout. Numerous videos and over 100 Excel calculation programs are available as supplementary materials, allowing all tasks in the book marked with an Excel icon to be calculated quickly. Additionally, the Bayreuth Machine Elements programs can be used, enabling the design of important machine elements—whether online, computer-based, or on various scientific calculators. Access to the calculation software MDESIGN Student rounds out the content.
