Samichlaus, dear Ma, that's how all the little verses begin... For 36 years, the author listened to the Samichlaus verses from children. During that time, he rarely heard any new verses. This motivated him to finally write new and contemporary verses. It was important to him that the Schmutzli and the donkey also get their own verses! These are always positive and uplifting, sometimes light-hearted, sometimes profound, and often funny.
