Product details
The ATB is the most traditional series of editions in German medieval studies. Founded in 1881 by Hermann Paul, it has been overseen by leading experts such as Georg Baesecke, Hugo Kuhn, and Burghart Wachinger. Since 2001, the responsibility has been in the hands of Christian Kiening. The now approximately 120 volumes exemplarily connect manuscript proximity and readability, scholarly work on the text, and a focus on academic teaching. They include recognized, partly annotated editions of classical authors from around 1200, as well as substantial collected works (Notker the German) and ambitious new editions (Eckenlied, Heinrich von dem Türlin).
