Das Zentrumsquartier im römischen Oberwinterthur

This volume aims to provide a comprehensive evaluation of all archaeological findings from the central district of Vitudurum/Oberwinterthur. Its contributions systematically address the results of recent research while also analyzing older excavations that have received little attention so far. One of the main focuses is on the imperial-era buildings, from their establishment around the birth of Christ to the construction of the fortifications at the end of the 3rd century. This meticulous study is complemented by the examination of all late Roman finds and evidence from the entire vicus area. Thus, the work makes a valuable contribution to the archaeology and history of the central district of Vitudurum and offers insightful findings regarding its development in late antiquity.
