Friedrich Bendixen authored several foundational works on the theory of money and credit. His treatise "The Nature of Money" was first published in 1908 and is divided into three parts. In the first part, Bendixen addresses the conventional understanding of money and its state nature. He also engages with Georg Friedrich Knapp's "State Theory of Money." The second part is dedicated to the economic nature of money and the creation of money. In the final part, Bendixen offers cautious criticism of the then-current gold standard and urges the Reichsbank to implement reforms.
