Das Versprechen

"The Promise" is a crime novel by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, developed from his screenplay for the film "It Happened in Broad Daylight." While the humanly committed Commissioner Matthäi succeeds in his investigations in the film, he fails in the novel. Commissioner Matthäi promises the parents of a murdered girl, on his honor, to catch the murderer. He recognizes parallels to other child murders and takes over a gas station on the road from Chur to Zurich, as he assumes the perpetrator will pass by there. He uses his housekeeper's daughter as bait. However, no further murders occur. Ultimately, the commissioner fails to solve the case due to a coincidence. The student booklet takes into account different learning organizations, a variety of methods, content assurance, and thematic focuses in a competency-oriented structure. It spans approximately 64 pages.
