Murano, 1893: Orietta Volpato is not particularly interested in making a good match. As the rebellious daughter of a Venetian glassblowing family, the twenty-year-old dreams instead of one day taking over the family business. Her great idol is the influential salon hostess Sibilla Veridiani. Orietta does everything she can to secure one of the coveted tickets to the Veridiani's masked ball during Carnival. Just as she is about to get close to her dazzling dream, she encounters a mysterious stranger during a gondola ride, who makes her heart race in an unfamiliar way. But then her brothers gamble away the manufactory, and Orietta is the only one who can still save her family's legacy. If she makes the wrong decision, her life could shatter into a thousand pieces.
