Once upon a time people created with their own hands the things that were necessary for life. Tailors, butchers, blacksmiths and tanners worked around the corner, were visible and audible. Then mechanisation and industrialisation first caused the crafts to disappear, later the factories moved away; in today's society, automation and globalisation mean that nobody knows how to say how the things we need for our daily lives are created. In his new book, the philosopher Konrad Paul Liessmann, who became famous for his "theory of illiteracy", describes the universe of things in our everyday life - a philosophy of everyday experience.
