Author text
Richard Laymon was born in Chicago in 1947 and studied English literature in California. He worked as a teacher, librarian and magazine editor before devoting himself entirely to writing and becoming one of the best-selling suspense writers of all time. Died in 2001, Laymon is now regarded in the USA and Great Britain as a horror cult author who is highly regarded by fellow writers such as Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Richard Laymon's novels "Rache", "Die Insel", "Das Spiel", "Nacht" and "Das Treffen" have also been published by Heyne-Verlag.

Flap text
They meet for a week every year: five young women, best friends since college and always looking for adventure. This year they have chosen the Totem Pole Lodge for their meeting, an abandoned sports hotel in the middle of the forest. Bad choice! Years ago, a terrible crime was committed here and when the girlfriends try to find out what really happened, it becomes clear that the hotel is by no means as abandoned as it seems
