In Beaux Bridge, rural Louisiana, nothing ever really happens. That is until the summer of 1998 when six teenagers disappear without a trace. Girls that 12-year-old Chloë knows from school. Their bodies are never found. However, in Chloë's parents' bedroom, a box containing the girls' jewelry is discovered. When her father, a loving man who had been upstanding until then, confesses to the crimes and is convicted as a serial killer, Chloë's world and her family shatter. Twenty years later, Chloë is a PhD psychologist. When one of her patients suddenly goes missing, she suspects that someone is imitating her father's crimes and wants to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the murders in their own way. Or is the true perpetrator still at large?.
