Das Regionale konstruieren

Based on the increasingly popular concept of the region, this publication examines forms and functions of homeland protection, reform, and vernacular architecture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that have been little acknowledged to date. The contributions, centered around various phenomena, pursue two main theses: first, that the references to land and homeland are constructed ideas; and second, that the efforts across different arts are not only closely interconnected but also accompanied by various endeavors that highlight the significant need during this time to construct cultural identity.
