It doesn't get more British than this - a delightful crime classic from the heart of London. The evening at the London Grosvenor Theatre is reaching its climax: a dramatic shootout is about to unfold. However, the scene turns out to be alarmingly realistic, and while the audience is still enthusiastically applauding, the floor turns blood red. The star of the evening lies dead on the ground! By chance, Inspector Wilson from Scotland Yard and his son Derek, an ambitious young reporter, are in the audience. The duo plunges into the investigation. Literally, as they soon stumble over more bodies - and repeatedly over their own feet.
