Product details
Comprehensive review of the Nature Conservation Protocol for simplified application. The 'Nature Conservation and Landscape Management' Protocol of the Alpine Convention aims to safeguard the functionality of ecosystems, maintain characteristic landscape elements and protect wild animal and plant species and their habitats. This is to be achieved while taking into account the interests of the local population and international regulations. The provisions of the Protocol are partly overridden by Union law and partly conflict with national law. It is therefore not surprising that the Nature Conservation Protocol has a particularly high practical relevance among the protocols of the Alpine Convention. Only recently, it was the basis for the Constitutional Court's annulment of an amending ordinance concerning the reduction of a nature reserve (Constitutional Court 15 December 2021, V 425/2020). This anthology clarifies the specific obligations arising from the Protocol for administrative authorities and facilitates access to this international treaty through its comprehensive collection of material.
