The passion for processing high-quality products was instilled in Véronique Witzigmann by her father, Eckart. "The idea of making fruit preserves came to me when my daughter Marietta was three years old. She hardly ate any fruit, and she certainly didn't like jam because of the fruit pieces. I wanted to create a fine spread for her that tasted fruity and contained little sugar." With this special method of preserving fruits, she not only delighted her daughter.

The jam book includes recipes for classics like strawberry or apricot jam, as well as for new creations: grapefruit-raspberry, Caribbean, or apple-pear-sea buckthorn. Véronique Witzigmann also provides tips for the canning process and for seasonally "appropriate" shopping. Information on the right equipment, pectin, and types of sugar, as well as troubleshooting tips, complete the canning school.
