Das Mädchen Jannie

Sold by her grandfather to Miro, the orphaned Jannie wanders the countryside begging with a few women. She doesn't know if she is ten or already eleven years old, but she is aware of children who have to work in fine houses because they are too young for the streets. While Commissioner Klinkhammer struggles to shed light on the dark mystery surrounding seven buried children's bodies, Jannie manages to escape. She is taken in by Dieter at his lonely farm and lovingly cares for his mother. The old woman lies paralyzed and mute in bed, trying to convey to Jannie, through winks, the danger she is in. But Jannie does not understand Morse code.
