Product details

Crystals, but especially the precious stones, have always had great importance in the imagination of peoples, their religions, fairy tales, legends, myths, rites and symbols. Certain precious stones/crystals are attributed the power to give their owner power, prestige, wealth, invincibility, youth or luck. So, with good reason, architects of all cultures and continents use crystalline structures as a design concept. This book presents a selection of the dimensions of meaning of the crystalline and traces the development of the crystalline ideal in architecture from its beginnings to projects currently in planning or under construction. It originated from a diploma thesis, submitted to Univ. Prof. Dr. Paul von Naredi-Rainer at the Philosophical-Historical Faculty of the Leopold-Franzens-University Innsbruck.
