Every time the Tages-Anzeiger magazine has to exceptionally omit the puzzle due to a specific case or the author decides to take a few weeks off, a flood of protest letters ensues. It is also well-documented that a group of solvers remains persistently puzzled; they engaged in days of email exchanges over the hint "fairy creature stands and goes on it." Instead of arriving at the sought-after "ivory," the ladies ultimately settled on "fairy toes."
