Conflicts have accompanied humanity since time immemorial and people have been trying to limit and deal with them for almost as long - whether as victims or as helpers, with more or less success. For once a conflict system has developed, once negative expectation structures and with them negative self-evident truths and inherent laws have developed, it becomes increasingly difficult for those involved to escape them: The complexity of our social life world, in which it is not easy for communication to orient itself anyway, is faded out. Violated sense of justice, misunderstandings and unfortunate attempts to correct them take turns. One begins to attribute causes of conflict "person-related" ("It's you! Your fault!"), and to impute negative motives to the conflict partner ("You're only doing that because ...!"), who in turn does the same. A number of well-studied but little-known psychological processes take place in us when we get into conflicts. Indignation against the other person grows, stupidly usually on both sides. Slowly the merry-go-round begins to spin - faster and faster until ... The book places the various psychological mechanisms in the context of a systemic understanding of conflict and explains ways in which the merry-go-round can be slowed down.
