When the ambitious student Machgub realizes that there are no jobs without the right relationships, he is forced to agree to a deceptive agreement: He is to marry a woman who has lost her virginity to save her honor without having seen his bride first. Moreover, the seducer of this girl, a high-ranking official, continues to demand regular visits to his mistress. In return, Machgub is given a position in the ministry. What begins for him at first as a mere survival strategy, soon turns out to be a Faustian pact with unforeseeable consequences.
