The Corona pandemic is hitting many companies hard. An increase in the number of insolvencies is to be expected. Employees and works councils are facing significant uncertainties. The insolvency manual provides detailed guidance on the measures that should be taken in their interest. Labor law, insolvency law, and social law, including regulations on insolvency benefits, must be taken into account. The 5th edition of this established manual includes explanations of the law on the stabilization and restructuring framework for companies (StaRUG). The manual provides the current foundations for advising and representing employees and interest representatives in court and out of court. The editors are: Andrej Wroblewski, a lawyer at the board of IG Metall in Frankfurt/Main, responsible for insolvency and insolvency benefits law, and a volunteer judge at the Federal Labor Court; Dr. Wolfgang Däubler, a professor of German and European labor law, civil law, and commercial law at the University of Bremen.
