Product details

Here the Roman troops are described in detail, who were completely wiped out by rebellious Germanic tribes in a battle of cauldrons in the autumn of 9 AD in the area which the Romans called "Saltus Teutoburgiensis", Teutoburger Wald. The legionnaires and auxiliary troops under the command of the commander-in-chief of the Rhine Army, Publius Quinctilius Varus, are reconstructed as realistically as possible on the basis of the current state of historical and archaeological research, with particular attention to the ground finds of Augustan military camps in Germania and the battlefield near Kalkriese.
