A young man retreats into the solitude of nature for a year. Disappointed by the church and Christianity, and unsettled by scientific statements, he ultimately has just one question: Is there a God? Is there a God? Must one choose between science and faith, between the theory of evolution and Christianity? How should one understand the Bible? What does "salvation" mean, who is "Christ"? What about all the suffering in the world, and should there really be such a thing as "hell"?
