Franz Hohler, born on March 1, 1943, in Biel (Switzerland), grew up in Olten, graduated from high school in Aarau in 1963, and began studying German and Romance languages in Zurich. The success of his first solo program "Pizzicato" prompted him to drop out of his studies after five semesters. With various one-man shows, he performed in many countries across Western and Eastern Europe, Canada, Morocco, Tunisia, and others. Franz Hohler lives as a cabaret artist and writer in Zurich. His poems, plays, and stories have received numerous awards. In 2002, he was awarded the Kassel Literature Prize for Grotesque Humor, in 2005 the Art Prize of the City of Zurich, and in 2013 the Solothurn Literature Prize.
