Kees de Kort, born in 1934 in Nijkerk, Holland, is a painter, designer, and illustrator. He studied at the Art Academy Amersfoort, the Utrecht School of Arts, and the Rijksakademie of Fine Arts in Amsterdam. He became famous primarily for his illustrations of biblical stories for children. He lives in Bergen (North Holland), is married, and has two sons.
