Study paper from 2011 in the field of Philosophy - Miscellaneous, grade: 1.0, ecosign/Academy for Design, language: German. Abstract: Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God? This question can only be answered after a comparison of the Christian and Islamic conceptions of God is made. Both Christians and Muslims profess belief in one God, making them both monotheistic religions. This commonality is addressed at the beginning of the paper, followed by a discussion of the names of God in both religions. The way God is praised is similar in Islam and Christianity, leading to the next chapter on the image of God. This section explores the fundamental attitude of people towards God and the image that both religions have of Him, the Lord and Creator. This transitions into the characteristics of God, which are described in the next chapter from the perspectives of Christianity and Islam. Both religions affirm the uniqueness of God, while Islam also emphasizes the unity of His essence. In contrast, the doctrine of the Trinity in Christianity is then discussed. Finally, the topics of incarnation and inlibration are described.
