Valerie is actually satisfied. She lives with her husband Tom in a beautiful old apartment in Düsseldorf, has a job at a large advertising agency, and wonderful friends and colleagues. The only thing missing is a child, which refuses to come despite their efforts. She is all the more shocked when she discovers that Tom is nearly infertile and has been keeping it a secret from her. Desperate, she seeks refuge with her parents in the Münsterland.
