Both the literature analysis and the empirical part deal with the delegation of medical tasks to members of the higher service in health and nursing care and the answering of the following research questions: What consequences arise from the delegation of venous blood draws, the placement of a peripheral venous catheter, and the preparation and connection of infusions with an existing vascular access to members of the higher service in health and nursing care for the organization of nursing activities on inpatient wards in hospitals? Which tasks can be transferred to nursing assistants? What core area of tasks remains reserved for members of the higher service in health and nursing care?.
