Love, jealousy, murder. Year 2000. Setting: Mecklenburg Vorpommern and Berlin. Contemporary history. In the year 2000, the television man Ladislav Honsack from Frankfurt am Main intends to make a documentary film about the internationally renowned painter Rosa Lefschitz, who was his childhood sweetheart in the GDR in the 1950s. During the preliminary talks for the film, the emotional secrets and ideological divergences of earlier years erupt again. Rosa's husband, a veterinarian, also believes that his wife could fall in love again with the bon vivant Honsack and, together with his friend Stube, a former Stasi colonel, installs a bugging system in Rosa's studio. After that, his life becomes a disaster.
