"The Secret of Childhood," published in 1950, is Maria Montessori's final work. In it, she advocates for a new approach to child-rearing that was innovative for its time: Contrary to the prevailing scientific opinion rooted in ancient beliefs, the physician and psychologist recognizes and describes in her work that the child already carries within its psyche the secret of our true nature. In the second and third parts, Montessori explains specific practical steps of her educational approach and the origins of these methods using examples from her time as the director of the Casa dei Bambini. She emphasizes the importance of allowing children to be themselves, not interrupting them, and providing them with our unconditional love while setting aside our own preferences. Part 1 has already been published as Volume 25 in the book series "Peren der Literatur," completing the work.
