Grounding, Line-up, Scamming, Upskirting - are these foreign words new to you? The Duden Dictionary of Foreign Words lists around 60,000 entries, encompassing both the current and traditional foreign vocabulary of the German language. The current 13th edition includes approximately 800 new entries, primarily from the fields of computer science, medicine, natural sciences, economics, and sports. Each entry is accompanied by information on pronunciation, grammar, origin, and meaning, as well as stylistic levels. Additionally, the volume contains reference articles on spelling uncertainties and word formation elements. New to this edition are around 70 boxed articles on easily confused foreign words such as legal and legitim and their usage.
