Student research project from the year 2013 in the subject area Psychology - Counselling and Therapy, grade: 1, Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck (Erziehungswissenschaft), language: German, abstract: The following paper takes a closer look at the method of family constellations. The focus of interest is a detailed insight into the recognised discipline of psychotherapy in order to be able to approach a constellation with the best knowledge and full respect - both as a therapist and as a client. The basics of family constellations are taken from the comprehensive work of Jakob Robert Schneider (2006), who is closely orientated towards Bert Hellinger and has been able to deepen his knowledge through many years of experience with constellation work. Concepts such as soul, (group) conscience, belonging, balance, order, bonding or resolution, which are essential for family constellations, are discussed in detail and visualised. In addition, the role of the therapist in the constellation and what needs to be taken into account is explained. One chapter is dedicated to the work of Stephan Hausner (2010), who has significantly developed systemic constellations in the area of illnesses and symptoms, and finally the scientific nature of the method is briefly discussed.
