This book deals with vacation law at both the European and national levels. Mirko Ahrends first considers the legal sources of European vacation law and also captures the differentiated case law of the European Court of Justice that builds upon it, in order to integrate this into a comprehensive concept of European vacation law. Following this, the author examines specific national areas, including suspended employment relationships, part-time employment, short-time work, and termination of employment. The research findings culminate in a proposal for the reform of the Federal Vacation Act.
