This is how individual language support in lower secondary education can be successfully implemented for latecomers in DaZ classes or alongside regular instruction:

• Learn German independently
• Simple and clear structure with recurring task formats and playful elements
• Integrated tasks for pronunciation as well as school and subject-specific language content
• Overviews and tasks for vocabulary and grammar
• Can be used independently of textbooks or as an additional component to the DaZ book or other materials
• Free online resources: audio files, flipQuiz games for vocabulary, transcriptions of listening texts, solutions, and a learning and differentiation plan for in-depth practice

The new series of DaZ workbooks resonates with the current trend through materials primarily designed for independent learning among adolescents. The combination with digital tools is not only motivating but, more importantly, allows for the inclusion of phonetics, thereby integrating listening skills and phonetics. I could list many more positive elements that immediately caught my attention...
