Das Czernowitzer Kochbuch

The Czernowitz Cookbook offers a best-of of the cuisine of the Eastern Danube Monarchy, prepared in a culturally historically interesting and contemporary way for recooking. Many ethnic groups of the former Habsburg Monarchy have left their traces in Czernowitz. It is not for nothing that the capital of Bukovina was called Little Vienna of the East. The culinary heritage of the Ukrainian, Romanian, Jewish, German and Polish population is presented in this book and prepared in such a way that the tasty dishes can still be cooked today without any problems. As a result of the peaceful coexistence of the peoples, a unique culinary mixture of different traditions was created in Chernivtsi. Borschtsch, Krautrouladen, Haluschky and the salad Herring in Fur from the Ukrainian kitchen are as much a part of the Chernivtsi cookbook as filtered fish from the Jewish, polenta.
