Cyberbullying

The continuous increase in internet usage, particularly of social networks, and the associated risks of abuse led to the inclusion of a specific cyberbullying offense in the Criminal Code as part of the 2015 reform. This work analyzes the pros and cons of the new legal regulation. In an increasingly digitalized and transparent world, honor and the protection of personality are legal goods that appear to be becoming more significant and valuable. Especially the growing connectivity and carelessness in social networks provide expanded insights into privacy and thus create opportunities for abuse. Victims of cyberbullying are subjected to high psychological stress due to ongoing harassment and often enormous reach and dissemination through the internet and social media, which can also lead to serious health damage.
