After Volume I "Dental Surgery", Volume II of the Curriculum Surgery is now published, which is dedicated to dental, oral and maxillofacial diseases. While Volume I deals mainly with surgical techniques and surgical procedures, Volume II is largely devoted to non-surgical diseases of the soft tissues of the oral cavity and the jaw and facial bones. An introductory chapter on general diagnostics and documentation is followed by chapters on specific inflammations in the jaw-facial region, focal diseases and cysts. The diseases of the maxillary sinuses and the diseases of the oral mucosa, including precanceroses and systemic diseases of the jaws, are treated in detail, although specialities and diseases have been omitted. A large chapter is devoted to internal diseases.
