Bernd Perplies, born in 1977 in Wiesbaden, studied Film Studies, German Studies, Book Studies, and Psychology in Mainz. While working at the German Film Institute in Frankfurt am Main, he turned to professional writing after his studies. Today, he works as a writer, translator, and journalist. He is the editor of the website Ringbote.de and the Corona Magazine, and he is part of the translation team for the Star Trek novels published by Cross Cult. In August 2008, his debut novel "Tarean - Son of the Curse Bringer" was released, followed by other fantastic works. Most recently, he published "Kampf um Aidranon," the second volume of his "Imperium der Drachen" saga, which won the German Fantasy Prize in 2015. Bernd Perplies lives near Stuttgart.

Christian Humberg preferred to sit in Captain Kirk's chair rather than do homework as a child. Since Starfleet has ignored his application letters to this day, the trained journalist and studied literary scholar chose a life as a writer. He writes novels and non-fiction for both young and adult readers, including the children's book series "Sagenhaft Eifel!" and "Die unheimlichen Fälle des Lucius Adler," as well as the humorous account "Der alte Mann und das Netz - Mein Vater entdeckt das Internet." His works have been translated into five languages, adapted for audio, and staged. Humberg was awarded the German Fantasy Prize in 2015. He lives in front of a computer monitor that blocks his view of the Mainz Cathedral and still dreams of Captain Kirk's chair.
