Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins I

One day they will save the world. A strange curse plagues the residents of the port city of Stilben. The old and weak fall ill, and children are born without the will to live. The twins Vexahlia and Vaxildan, two half-elves in search of gold and adventure, seek to uncover the truth. However, to solve the mystery of Stilben, they will need help.

This is the origin story of the adventurer group Vox Machina, which has captivated millions of viewers on Twitch and YouTube, now presented in its first-ever German translation.

What is Critical Role? Critical Role is a U.S. web show where a group of actors and voice actors plays the tabletop role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons together every Thursday. Guided by the storyteller Matthew Mercer, known for his roles in Overwatch, Attack on Titan, and many others, they have been thrilling millions of viewers since 2015 with the adventures of the group Vox Machina.

The first episode of the second campaign, which started in January 2018, had 135,000 live viewers on Twitch and over 4 million views on YouTube. A crowdfunding campaign launched in March 2019 to finance an animated special for Vox Machina was not only fully funded in less than an hour but also became one of the most funded Kickstarters in history within a few days, raising over 11 million dollars. The animated series is set to premiere in 2020.
