Briefwechsel mit Joseph Kürschner

Karl May's relationship with the lexicographer, publisher, editor, and bookseller Joseph Kürschner (1853 - 1902) was of great significance for the literary career of the Saxon storyteller. This volume comprehensively documents and comments on the correspondence between May and Kürschner for the first time, reflecting the current state of research. It also includes letters from and to the Stuttgart publisher Wilhelm Spemann (1844 - 1910), in whose boys' magazine "Der Gute Kamerad" Karl May's major youth stories such as "Der Schatz im Silbersee" and "Der Ölprinz" were published starting in 1887. The Union Deutsche Verlagsgesellschaft, co-founded by Spemann, later also released the first book editions of these works. Joseph Kürschner was Spemann's most important collaborator from 1880 to 1889.
