Product details

E-learning as a new type of education and lecture system, as opposed to classroom teaching, is becoming increasingly important, not only at universities. Based on the experience gained in the laboratory for multimedia systems at HAW-Hamburg in the field of e-learning, various requirements for e-learning systems arose, which are presented in this paper. In this book, the development path resulting from these requirements for e-learning systems up to the development of the Lecture-Listener prototype is presented. The new concept of the so-called Lecture Listener for the automatic generation of e-learning content from lectures, which is introduced here, is an innovative way and an answer to the requirements which arise in the practice of e-learning. The concepts of content engineering, media integration, and the use of the Lecture Listener are used as intermediate stations.
