Content Based Instruction in Practice

"Content Based Instruction in Practice" is a professional book that deals with the application of content-based instruction (CBI) in the context of university English teaching. Given the increasing number of higher education institutions offering their courses in English, the importance of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) preparatory classes is becoming more evident. This book presents a case study at Karadeniz Technical University that examines foreign language teachers' perceptions of CBI. Various models of content-based instruction used at the university are discussed, along with the advantages and disadvantages of this methodology in preparatory courses. The findings highlight the controversies and challenges associated with the implementation of CBI and shed light on the reasons for the discontinuation of this teaching method in certain academic fields.
