Product details
Ludwig van Beethoven composed his five great piano concertos over a period of twenty years. The 5th Concerto in E flat major op. 73, first printed in 1810/11, is presented here in a piano reduction for two pianos. The edition in the usual Urtext quality is set up for practical use and is based on the Beethoven Complete Edition. In order to do justice to Beethoven's intentions, characteristic writing styles of the composer have been retained in the solo part. The preface is also valuable. In it, Beethoven researcher Hans-Werner Küthen goes into detail about the sources. He also describes the circumstances of the indeterminate year of composition, 1809, during the Napoleonic occupation of Vienna, and thus provides an interesting historical classification.
