Coloproctology

Coloproctology is a surgical specialty that evolves every few years. While there are many colorectal textbooks, there are few specialty series on particularly complex topics and specialized management approaches for trainees and training colorectal surgeons. This text aims to provide a high-quality colorectal book written by world experts, targeted at senior surgical and colorectal trainees, as well as young consultant coloproctologists in current areas of subspecialty expertise. The chapters are structured based on topics that are not addressed in existing colorectal textbooks. This series has already proven useful in other fields, including neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and transplantation surgery. The text is designed to be relatively didactic, utilizing an algorithmic approach to specialized areas within coloproctology, with the potential for updates every three years to include new topics for didactic training in colorectal surgery. It is anticipated that these texts will become valuable teaching resources and essential tools for every coloproctologist, as well as appealing to all general surgeons and surgical trainees involved in complex elective and emergency colorectal surgery.
