Collage/Montage dans l'art et la littérature

Since the 1960s, collage and montage have experienced a sustained revival. Under ever-changing cultural, political, and media-technological conditions, the artistic principle of cutting and reassembling found materials, developed by the avant-gardes in the early 20th century, has been reappropriated. The interdisciplinary contributions in this volume examine how this aesthetic principle has been transformed, expanded, and reinterpreted in art, film, and literature since the 1960s. The focus is on the new forms, methods, and meanings of collage and montage, the tension between digitalization and material-based bricolage, as well as the expansion of the socio-political impulses associated with collage and montage to include gender-critical, cultural-historical, and social-utopian perspectives.
